Any of this sound familiar:
Bloated? Always hungry? Overweight? Digestion problems? Sleeping problems? Skin problem? Blood sugar problems? – just to name a few.
And no idea why?
What if I told you that you could find out what is causing you a lot of the discomfort, aches and pains you are feeling without going to the doctor?
All the symptoms mentioned above and a lot more are things that are caused by what you are eating. And all these and more are things I’ve fixed for myself, and for many others, through getting to know your body by using the elimination diet.
Elimination diet … I know, it doesn’t sound that good, does it? But I can tell you, it’s a good thing – and it works.
How is food working for you?
Do you have the energy you want?
Are you feeling great?
Are you free from aches and pains?
What are you eating?
Most of us always put the same 10 foods in our shopping carts. The same 10 foods day in and day out, all our lives.
Milk, bread, pasta, breakfast cereals, yoghurt, potato chips, fruit juice from concentrate, sodas, candy, biscuits, sugar, coffee, processed meats, chicken and so on and so forth.
And we do this not thinking at all about what it is doing to us.
And then we don’t feel so good. Hmmmmmm … I wonder why that is.
The thinking behind an elimination diet is that it teaches us what food agrees with us and which doesn’t. You eliminate the food that could be having an adverse effect on your body for long enough so that they are cleared out of the system.
Then you reintroduce them, and watch out for signs of whether you can tolerate them or not.
This is a method I have been using for years with my clients and the one thing they always tell me after they have done this is: “I had no idea that [insert type of food] was causing me so many problems”. They learn about their body and what the food they are eating does to it, and learn to avoid the bad foods. The great thing about the program I take them through is that they also learn to enjoy the good foods.
Do you really want to know your body? Do you know which foods do it good and which are doing it harm? Then I highly recommend using an elimination diet. Eliminate trouble foods for 30 days and then test them out. I have yet to find anyone who hasn’t benefited from this.
Let your body heal itself. Give it a rest from trouble foods and give it the goodness it deserves for 30 days. Then test to see what it can, and what it cannot take. I promise you, it will be worth it.
And trust me, your body will let you know if it doesn’t like the food you put in it after it has had time to clean itself out. To be honest – your body will kick your ass – but I also promise, you’ll feel better for it in the long term.
